The Meat Co. restaurant, A restaurant specialized in meats. Offering their diners a wide range of quality meats depending on it's origin, breed, diet etc. Surely a temple for those meat lovers who are specific about their meat and less price sensitive. We were at their Souq Madinat Jumeirah branch which was a wonderful place to eat outside the restaurant next to the open waterway. Thanks to the man made canals at Madinat Jumeirah, our lunch was cool enough to be less bothered by the sun.

TheMeatCo. in Souq Madinat Jumeirah is their first restaurant in UAE and I remember this restaurant being always jam packed in the evenings while having those lazy stroll in souq. Those good days are over, now a days you need to pay by the hour for parking your car down their basement. As you can see interiors inside is very polished but most of the diners would prefer to be eating outside next to the waters. It was beautiful sitting outside in a luxury resort as Madinat Jumeirah. I am sure most of you understand what I mean as you would have already visited Souq Madinat Jumeirah.
[caption id="attachment_4829" align="alignnone" width="470"] Moctails - Dhs 43 - From right - African Guava(Guava an Mango nectar, blended with vanilla ice cream) and Cool berries(Muddled fresh raspberries, shaken with fresh strawberry and pineapple juice strained and topped with ice)[/caption]
[caption id="attachment_4830" align="alignnone" width="470"] Complimentary starters - Bread and Butter[/caption]
From the drinks the African Guava was surely the better drink out the of the two with ice cream playing a key role in the African Guava mocktail . The cool berries was quite weak in taste and sometimes even annoying when the raspberries get stuck inside the straw, eventually having to drink from the glass itself. The warm pumpkin loaf was really nice with a crunchy texture on the outside and a little sweet. We also dipped the bread in other sauces found around the table but yeah, it was a nice one to begin with.

The chef soup of the day was satisfying. They keep changing it so not sure what you'll be getting on that day but from the taste I can say you can expect a decent soup whatever it is. I was very much looking forward to the red chilli prawns. There wasn't anything spicy about the chilli prawns but the creamy sauce and that rice was impressive. The prawns are blank in taste on its own until you dip them well in that creamy sauce which gives you that taste you look forward to. I felt they should add a little more of that cream sauce as the whole dish depends on it very much. Somehow me and the rocket salad didn't get along well. Those leaves were a bit too thin for me to get a grip on them. Also I felt the balsamic dressing could have been better cause I really couldn't taste it well while having the salad.

[caption id="attachment_4837" align="alignnone" width="470"] Marinated Lamb Skewer(Australia) - Dhs 185[/caption]
Then came the meats which were their expertise. You have the option to choose meats of different origin like USA, Australia, Argentina, New Zealand. Different quality beefs depending on how they are fed and treated. You will find beef which are fed natural grass, A grade grass, gold grain, regular grains etc. Also on the menu you will find number of days they were fed with premium grains or grass.
I had their 200gm Australian wagyu beef. I realized how tender the beef was while I tried to cut it. The creamy mushroom sauce complimented the juicy steak very well. The manager of the restaurant told me why these beefs were special. The beefs are fed in a special area with special food like the gold grains from the beginning and not allowed to go too far away in the farm. These animals got special massage to bring tenderness in their meat and even played special soothing music for them to get the best quality out of their body. After they cut the beef, they marinate them and seal these marinated beef in a vaccum container for a few days. The more the days the tastier it gets. Such is the process involved behind the steak on your plate. I guess this explains a little why steaks at Meatco. are quite expensive. :) The lamb skewers were quite a show on our table. Almost all passer by would have their eye on this skewer. The meaty lamb cubes were succulent and easy to eat. From the sides for this one we chose the mashed potatoes.

They have a long list of desserts. The dessert platter for Dhs 70 is definitely the way to go. The 5 desserts that came in this plate were:
- Dark chocolate and raspberry tart
- Apple crumble supreme(the picture with ice cream on top)
- creme brulee
- Nutella milk chocolate cheesecake
- Tiramisu
Ofcourse all desserts came with their own taste. My favourite was Dark chocolate raspberry tart and nutella milk chocolate cheesecake. My guest preferred the Apple crumble supreme and creme brulee. I loved the ice cream used on Apple crumble. Click here to visit the official page of TheMeatCo. Click pictures below to see them in full screen view:
